Our People
Luci is a writer, historian, researcher, speaker and curator with a special interest in the social and cultural history of the early twentieth century. She grew up in Co. Durham, studied History at the University of Liverpool, and pursued a career in the picture library industry. Today she works as Head of Sales & Research at historical image source, Mary Evans Picture Library (very handy for Memory Lane publications!).
Her published books span a range of subjects including debutantes, royal coronations, First World War cartoons, high society, holidays, Great War knitting, feminist art and, in collaboration with Memory Lane, the history of an iconic theatrical landmark: The London Hippodrome. She has worked on numerous acclaimed Memory Lane titles, including: The Kynren Guide to History; HM Queen Elizabeth II – Her Life & Reign; Her Majesty The Queen At Sandringham; and Kings & Queens Timeline – From William The Conqueror to HM King Charles III.
Luci lives in East London with her family, which includes a Glen of Imaal Terrier called Feargal (known locally as "a character") and a handsome cat called Cholmondeley.
