Julian Hale
Author

Julian read History at Lancaster University, where he completed an MA on the air war in the Middle East in the First World War. In 2012, he joined the RAF Museum, cataloguing a collection of 25,000 photographs of First World War aircraft. He later became the Museum’s Assistant Curator for the Centenary Programme.

 

He has written a number of books on aviation-related topics, including The RAF 1918-2018 and Women in Aviation for Shire and The Blitz 1940-41 and Normandy 1944 for Osprey. He is currently authoring a book on Operation Bodenplatte 1945 and preparing a two volume history of the air war over North Africa 1940-43. In addition, Julian has worked on a variety of publications for Memory Lane, including The Dambusters 1943, Dunkirk 1940 and Enigma – The Search for the Code Mission Packs and a Battle of Britain Illustrated Timeline.

 

Julian’s interests include motorsport, walking, golf, skiing, music and, more recently, cookery.
